A notice says something is failing right now

What the yellow notice on the submit page means, what still works, and what happens to your credits.

Sometimes a yellow notice shows above the link box on the submit page. It means one of the services we depend on is failing right now. It is not about your account or your video.

What the notice says

It names what is failing and what still works. Here is one example.

"YouTube links are failing right now. Upload the file instead, or try again in a bit. If a video fails, we refund the credits."

A notice about one kind of link shows only when you paste that kind of link. A notice about uploads shows on the Upload a file tab. A problem that affects every video shows to everyone.

What to do

  • YouTube, Instagram or Dropbox links are failing: download the video yourself and upload the file.
  • Uploads are failing: paste a link instead.
  • The clip finder is down: videos under a minute and Don't clip still work.
  • Anything else: you can still submit, or wait and try again later.

Your credits

If you submit while a notice is up and the video fails, its credits go back to your balance automatically.

When it goes away

The notice comes down by itself once the service works again. The page checks every 30 seconds, so it shows and clears without a reload.

If a video of yours did fail, see Troubleshooting for what its message means.
