Links and files that work
YouTube, Instagram and Dropbox links, video uploads, and the size, length and language limits.
Links
Paste a link from YouTube, Instagram or Dropbox. For Dropbox, use the share link to one video file.
Links from other sites are not supported. Download the video and upload the file instead.
Files
Upload a .mp4, .mov, .webm, .mkv file of up to 5 GB.
Drag the file anywhere onto the submit page, or press Choose file on the Upload a file tab.
Length limits
- We process up to 60 minutes of a video at a time.
- For a longer video, pick a section of up to 60 minutes with the time range.
- Videos longer than 3 hours are not accepted, even with a time range.
- The shortest video or time range is 3 seconds.
- Don't clip keeps up to 10 minutes in one clip.
These limits are checked before any credits are taken.
Language
English only for now. A video in another language fails, and its credits are refunded.
Private or unsupported videos
We cannot read a video that is private, removed, age restricted or for members only.
Most of the time you find out before you pay. The submit page says it could not read the video's length, and no credits are taken.
If the problem shows up after you submit, the video fails with a short reason and your credits are refunded.
The fix is the same each time: make the video public, or download it yourself and upload the file.
A link from a site we do not support gets this message: "We can't make clips from this link. Paste a YouTube, Instagram or Dropbox link, or upload the video file."
